A delightfully spooky twist on the holiday season is arriving in downtown Columbia this weekend as CREEPMAS takes over the State Theatre Vintage Emporium on October 3. The unique event promises a mix of vintage shopping, local vendors, Halloween fun, and early holiday spirit, all under one historic roof at 421 Locust Street.
According to organizers, CREEPMAS will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., transforming the vintage marketplace into a celebration where Christmas meets the strange and unusual. Visitors can browse a variety of pop-up vendors while enjoying coffee and refreshments from The Kitsch-enette Vintage & Vegan Cafe, which will be serving customers throughout the day.
One of the day’s main attractions will be the arrival of Frankie Claus, a spooky spin on the traditional Santa Claus character. Organizers say Frankie Claus will make his grand entrance in a “ghoulie ride” at 11 a.m. and will be available for photographs with visitors. For families, costume enthusiasts, and fans of all things creepy, it promises to be a memorable photo opportunity.
The event will also feature several interactive activities. Guests can create their own spell jars, browse handcrafted jewelry and artwork, and meet local artisans displaying their unique creations. Throughout the day, shoppers may even encounter surprise giveaways with purchases from participating vendors.
Community support will play an important role as well. The Columbia Animal Shelter is expected to participate in the festivities, raising funds to support local animals in need while connecting with residents and visitors alike. Organizers hope the partnership adds a charitable element to a day centered on fun and community engagement.
Events like CREEPMAS continue to highlight the creativity and energy that have become hallmarks of Columbia’s growing small business community. By combining vintage shopping, local artists, community organizations, and themed entertainment, the event offers something a little different from traditional autumn festivals and holiday markets.
Whether you’re hunting for vintage treasures, looking for a unique family outing, or simply curious about what happens when Halloween and Christmas collide, CREEPMAS may be worth adding to your weekend plans.
