Columbia Borough Council is set to consider applying for a $250,000 Community Development Block Grant to fund critical improvements at the Columbia Crossings facility. The grant would help support structural repairs and facility upgrades at one of Columbia’s most visible tourism and recreation assets.
According to borough documents, officials recently learned they were awarded a separate $300,000 state grant for the project. Borough leaders are now pursuing additional funding to ensure renovations can move forward if another pending grant application is unsuccessful.
The project would improve the Columbia Crossings building, which serves as a visitor center and gateway to the Northwest Lancaster County River Trail. Borough officials say the facility plays a significant role in attracting visitors and supporting recreation-focused economic activity throughout the community.
If approved, the borough would submit a resolution requesting funding through the Lancaster County Housing and Redevelopment Authority.
