WRIGHTSVILLE, Pa. — A proposal to bring a farmers market to Wrightsville’s riverfront is gaining interest from borough officials and residents alike.

During a recent borough council meeting, organizers shared plans to create a seasonal market featuring local produce, meats, baked goods, and handmade goods. The market would operate from spring through fall and provide a new gathering place for residents while supporting local farms and small businesses.

Supporters believe the location along the riverfront could attract both local shoppers and visitors from neighboring communities. The market could also complement existing recreational opportunities along the river, creating another reason for families to spend time in downtown Wrightsville.

Organizers are continuing to work through planning details, including vendor recruitment, scheduling, and operational logistics. Borough leaders expressed optimism about the concept and indicated they would continue working with organizers as plans move forward.

If successful, the market could become a new community tradition that showcases local agriculture while helping strengthen the borough’s economy.
