Community Supports Retiring Officer Following Health Battle

WRIGHTSVILLE, Pa. — A longtime police officer is preparing to retire after an extraordinary personal battle that has inspired support from throughout the community.

During a recent council meeting, officials shared an update on the police officer, who has been dealing with significant health challenges following a diagnosis involving a brain tumor.

The encouraging news is that he is now cancer-free. However, ongoing medical complications have made it impossible for him to return to active law enforcement duties.

Residents, fellow officers, and supporters have rallied around the officer and his family through fundraising efforts and other forms of assistance. The outpouring of support reflects the close relationship between the police department and the community it serves.

While retirement was not the path anyone expected, many in attendance expressed appreciation for his years of service and wished him the very best moving forward.
