Fatal Pedestrian Crash Claims Two Lives in Columbia Borough
COLUMBIA, Pa. (August 9, 2026) — A tragic pedestrian crash in Columbia Borough on Sunday morning claimed the lives of two adults and left a juvenile girl critically injured, according to Columbia Borough Police.
Police were dispatched to the intersection of 3rd Street and Chestnut Street at approximately 11:45 a.m. on August 9 for a report of pedestrians struck by a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a Dodge Ram pickup truck had struck three pedestrians. According to investigators, all three victims were transported from the scene for emergency medical treatment.
While officers continued their investigation at the crash site, they were notified that the two adult victims, ages 71 and 74, had succumbed to their injuries. A juvenile female who was with them suffered serious injuries and was subsequently airlifted to another hospital for advanced treatment.
Authorities said the driver of the Dodge Ram remained at the scene and is cooperating fully with investigators. No charges have been announced, and police emphasized that the investigation remains ongoing.
